Kids and food......WTH

List of food my picky ass kids will eat:
  • sweets, except fruit pies
  • pizza, minus any veggies or heavy sauce (I get the sauce thing, sauce is my least favorite thing on a pizza)
  • fried foods
  • macaroni and cheese from a fucking box
  • hot dogs
  • bacon or sausage
  • pancakes, waffles, or French toast
  • cereal
  • tacos, of course, minus any veggies
  • spaghetti (little do they know, it is full of pureed veggies)
Everything else is off the table. Being mine and Jay's kids, I don't see how this is possible. I may be picky, but to prefer mac and cheese from a box over homemade gooey cheesy mac and cheese is just W.R.O.N.G.

Jay said if they give up bacon, they are disowned. He would be so ashamed.

There are so many things I would love to make, but I know the kids won't eat it. I've given up making 2 meals, it is just too much work for me. Besides, I think they need to try new things.

The best I can do is make the food they enjoy and make it as healthy for them as possible. Like making their devil mac and cheese AND add pureed veggies to it so they won't know. Sneaky, sneaky.

I will get back to recipes next week, I just need to get past the chicken pox adventure we are on right now. And my period that had decided to stop by today. No wonder I am pissed at the world today.

I am dead serious when I say this. I have the exact same eating preferences as your children.

You have to figure out some way to incorporate some kind of healthy stuff. Aside from the whole nutrition thing, the annoyance of people commenting on your horrible diet is enough to make a person snap.

It's too late for me. Save them while there is still time!

Listen to Ryan. I mean just look at how hairy the dude is.

Tell your period I said hi. Mine just called to announce her visit for next week.

I am so not looking forward to feeding picky eaters. I eat weird shit, well, what my parents call weird. Pesto, turkey sausage, edamame, etc. Does this mean I have to give it up? *wah*

And J and I agree with your Jay - not liking bacon is a disgrace.

What is it with that boxed mac 'n cheese and children? It's like toddler crack!

Hope you're feeling better!

As an adult, you prefer the ooey gooey mac and cheese, and as a child you probably preferred the boxed stuff... Kids LOVE artificial crap foods... it's just a fact.

I'm with both you and Jay, if they give up bacon they are not worthy of the family name!

Perhaps you should try that cookbook where you add veggies on the sly...

Ryan: I sneak stuff into their food often.

Jay: Like you have any room to talk.

Jill: My period said "hahahahahahaha". If you start young enough, hopefully it will just stick. My kids didn't eat all that well until they were a little older.

RLL: I'll feel better when Aunt Flow hits the road, but thanks.

Lizzle: I have the cookbook Deceptively Delicious, and it has helped out a lot. Jay bought it for me for Christmas, per my request.
