I was just thinking.....

I thought maybe, just maybe, I would start a food blog. Or doing a food post once or twice a week. I've been making a lot of new recipes lately, and it's nice to share. Keep in mind, these all wouldn't be family recipes or ones I came up with; some may be from the Food Network or Food Down Under, or even from one of my many, many, many cookbooks.

I spend hours and hours every week preparing meals and goodies for my family. I have even recently started making all our bread. From scratch. Which takes at least 3 hours. But damn, it is good! And my house smells awesome, too. I've also spent time roasting and pureeing veggies and fruits so that I can add it to meals all year long. I have squash, pumpkin, carrots, sweet potatoes, broccoli, and cauliflower on the bottom of my freezer. I also have vegetable stock in there.

I've been spending time stocking up on stuff I need to make special or odd treats. I look at Ina Garten's pantry and I get totally jealous. I want that! I do! Not that I have room for that much shit in my house, but it's good to have a dream. But, damn, some things are expensive. Saffron. Vanilla beans. Even yeast gets spendy. I have found a way around the vanilla beans, though. I use vanilla paste, and it works just as well in most dishes and costs the same as 2 vanilla beans do, but goes a lot further.

What do you guys think? I am totally up for suggestions on this. If you have a recipe that you think I should post about, let me know. I want to do a whole bunch of different kinds of foods.

So........I guess I'm doing it. Writing this has made up my mind. I'll try and do them on Monday's and Thursday's. Maybe I'll do easier meals or quick-fix meals on Monday, and a more time consuming one on Thursday, right before the weekend hits.

See you Thursday!

I'm poor and cannot afford to go out and get fancy pants ingredients to prepare delicious delicacies! I will however, enjoy reading about it and imagining what it would taste like!

I like the idea... and maybe have a little bit more detail about the process, rather than just a recipe - because apparently just a recipe isn't enough for me. Pictures maybe. Or tips and tricks. Or I don't know, just come to my house once a week and give me lessons? :)

Crystal: I definitely can do that. The one I have lined up for Thursday actually came from Meals Matter, which is a healthier webpage.

Dyck: But no one does it as good as me.

McLean: Your chocolate chip cookies or the cream cheese sugar cookies I make? You may have to hand over your recipe because I now have a craving.

Lizzle: This Thursday's recipe is very inexpensive but looks expensive. Promise, the whole meal is less than $5 a person, way less.

Toryssa: I will try to explain more. That last one was a bit more complicated.

Madman: Once Jay loses the pubic fur on his face, I will lose my fur. Until then, I promise to keep it clean.

Jay: I would prefer those pictures to ones of your facial hair.
