Since the recipes I'm making this weekend are my secrets, I thought I would pass along one of my favorite recipes that is so easy, even a man can make it.
Terriyaki Cheeseburgers
- 1 lb. ground meat (I prefer ground turkey myself, but you can do half turkey, half hamburger)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (I use extra sharp, but you can use any type)
- 3/4 cup Soy Vay Veri Veri Terriyaki sauce (you can find this at any grocery store in Asian Food aisle or for cheaper at Trader Joe's. It's in a clear bottle with a white label and bright blue writing)
Mix all together, form into patties, and cook on a griddle. I do not suggest doing them on the grill as they are pretty juicy and could fall apart. I also suggest putting them on onion buns.
My mom came up with this recipe when I was a little girl, and I perfected it with my find of the Soy Vay sauce. It is awesome, I swear by it. It has minced garlic in it, so it has a very great flavor. I've made these with all of the other terriyaki sauces, and this one just perfects them. Once you've made these a few times, you can vary the amount of cheese and sauce to your liking. I've made them with pepper jack cheese and cheddar and it was really good!
So good luck, and happy eating! I'm off to the store for all the ingredients.

Wow, they sound delicious. I am going to borrow your recipe for dinner! Thanks for sharing.
I am so wanting monkey cakes and bacon. There aren't a lot of people that appreciate a good monkey.
You had me at "1 lb. ground meat "
Good news Christie! I only gained 15 pounds reading this post. ;)
Have a great weekend.
I have a similar recipe, only instead of teriyaki sauce, I use vodka. And instead of cheddar cheese, I use rum. And instead of hamburger, I use scotch.
Jessica: You are so welcome!
Angela: You have to use the finest monkey, of course, or they just don't turn out.
Ryan: I know I would, baby.
Corky: I'll let you know how good it was when I finally roll myself out of the food coma on Monday.
Dyck: Now for that I am willing to admit maybe 4.5 inches is big. I would love you forever if you could make me one of those. Thanks!
Very yummy sounding!
Yesterday we made some flank steak that had been marinated in teriyaki and beer, and it was fabulous!
I love Soy Vay Teriyaki sauce and will try the burger recipe, but implore you to take pity and share some of the other recipes, too, even if you will have to kill us afterwards
Those teriyaki burgers sound YUMMY! I want some!! I'll definitely give them a try when my love pad is all set up in NY :-)
Oh yum! I can appreciate a twist on the good ol' hamburger. Think I'm going to the store this evening now. :)
SOunds good...can you ship the leftovers to me?
I don't like mushrooms. But I'd be willing to pick them out for such a delicacy!
Mmmmm.
Girl, is your liver OK? From all that alcohol you've been metabolizing ... it must be dead tired!
:-p
Would you believe my stomach actually started growling when I read this post????
I am so hunting you down and coming to your place for dinner.
my mouth is literally watering from reading that recipe!
Hey, it's Wednesday. Those burgers must have been more filling than I thought?
I SO want to be at your house, with you, eating all that good food!!
That all sounds yummy!
And we were just at Trader Joe's! I'll have to keep a look out for the Soy Vay Veri Veri Terriyaki next time we're there.
