Holy Crap, I actually won something!

My sista from another mista gave me an award today, and I was shocked! Shocked, I say. I never win anything. Never ever ever. I mean, I won MVP in softball a few times, but I was like 13, and had yet to become a woman, so that doesn't count. I have entered tons of shit over the years, and got dissed every time. But Jenny comes along and just gives me an award for writing about my frazzled life and taking the time to comment on her funnyass blog, too. And she has totally made my day!

This award is for "people that were exceptionally adept at creating relationships with other bloggers by making an effort to be part of a conversation, as opposed to a monologue. These bloggers have all worked hard to build a reputation for themselves by commenting on other blogs, participating in blogging communities, replying to comments left on their blog and overall just doing their part to interact with other bloggers".

I'm a schmoozer, folks! Awesome! You know, I love reading other peoples take on stuff, and then letting them know how much I agreed or disagreed with it. And it has really helped my stress level to be able to write out my life's issues for the whole blogosphere to see. It makes my problems comical, and that makes life much easier to deal with.

So who made my day? Jenny made my day!

And I needed it because my 4 1/2 year old son schooled my ass in bowling yesterday. I mean, I still beat him, but only by 3 points. Three crappy points. I did, however, totally whoop my daughter by 20 points. Add that with the fact I am so old, I actually hurt my back bowling and going to the batting cages. How sad is that? I would kick my own ass if I thought it wouldn't kill me.

And now I am supposed to hand this award out to 5 different bloggers that I think fit the bill. Oh, the pressure of coming up with 5 people. All of the people listed below have made me feel right at home and welcome since I started blogging. I was so hesitant to have a blog at first because, let's face it, I'm a stay at home mom and have no life, but they have made me so happy with what I have written. And I was told not to give it to my husband (even though he is my very favorite blogger).

Here they are in random order:

1. Crystal: Funny funny funny girl! I love people that can make fun of themselves, and she sure does a lot of that.

2. Lizzle: I feel like she's my partner in crime at Happy Hour.

3. Princess: When she's not doing plies down her office hallway or thinking about killing her co-worker, D.A.G., she is busy humoring us with her wedding plans and her tales of life with Funasaurus.

4. Revree: She's just funny! I don't know what else to say. Just check her out, will ya!

5. Marcia: Even though I TOTALLY disagree with her love of pink, I love reading her blog. I am always amazed with crafty people that seem normal. Most crafties are totally freaks or 70 years old.

And that's all, folks! I can only give out 5, even though I know there are plenty of other great schmoozer's out there.

So I'm outta here for now. I have a date with a spinach salad and my couch. I've had the desire to watch Goonies since returning from vacation. Did I tell you I saw the Goonie house (you know where Chunk did the Truffle Shuffle) and drove down the road they rode their bikes on to get to the restaurant? See, I am cool. In a geeky way, but cool nonetheless.

What about the award you got at Spring Break '99 for being able to lick the back of your own ankles?

Honey, if you don't want all the men banging down the door to get to me, I wouldn't go spreading that around.

I'm so much more deserving of that award than you are. Jenny obviously gave it to you out of pity.

Dyck- Let's play nice and share, k.

christie shares the love!!
sweet!

i am glad you started a blog. and i am not just saying that so you will give me $5. (usually, when i compliment people, it is for money)

Lizzle: I would have passed it on to him, too, but he told me I couldn't. I think he has a vagina sometimes when he sees a very large spider. Besides, he likes the behind-closed doors awards best.

Crystal: $5, wow! Can I owe you for that. I spent all my money on vacation and getting my ass beat in bowling.

I'm surprised and hurt to find that you have not yet linked me or given me an award. I know that we've only started courting late last week but still... ;)

I LOVE the pictures you have added to your blog...cutest little things...but seriously come on...you need to woop their butts when you bowl...that's embarrasing for mom's everyhwhere! You should tell the hubby that next time an award comes around...he should have to "work" for it...if you get my drift!

a) thanks for the award! Especially since I've been such a shitty blogger of late - but c'mon. I'm moving in 2.5 weeks. So I have an excuse.

b) love the pictures of your cute babies. Your husband doesn't post pictures of them enough. And. I secretly love babies. Even though I don't want them... yet.

c) and. I'm so secretly crafty it makes ME puke. I made a quilt yesterday for my mom. And it made a mess, and Matt said no more projects until we move. :(

Corky: I would have given you the award, but Jenny gave it to you, too. I had to share the love, hon.

Jenny: I can't help it, if I'm not drinking, I can't bowl for shit! If I offered sex for an award, he would go out and win everything, and then I wouldn't be able to walk, let alone, blog for a week. Then you would be sad. And speaking of sex, my babies are pretty cute, aren't they!

Marcia-
A)I suppose moving is a good excuse for now.

B)My kids are cute, aren't they. Jay so far has only posted pictures of his mini-me and left out Princess. I don't know why, it's not like we don't have TONS of pictures of her. But then, none of them include a beer bottle or can. I want more babies, but he won't let me. He is so mean.

C)I would love to be crafty, but lack the imagination. I've been knitting a sweater for Kerri and Jason's baby for 3 months, and I still haven't finished it. But in my defense, I didn't know how to graft the stitches together until recently, so it wasn't all my fault.

Ooooh! Thank you! This should be fun. :-)

And I am totally envious of Marcia's craftiness, too, if it makes you feel any better. I made a bowl of cereal all by myself, this week. That's about the extent of my talents.

Christie said...

Princess: I was so happy with myself until I realized I had to pick 5 people to give it to. I really need to find a way to deal with stress.

Did the bowl of cereal pour out in the shape of the Alimo or Eiffel Tower, cause that would be beyond crafty!

Congratulations Christie! You deserve it.

And, by the way, I love your profile photo. You're beautiful! And, I know, I'm shallow. :)

Christie said...

Ahh, Dan, I'm blushing. You are too sweet.

P.S. Jay, are you reading this. See how to make your wife swoon. See....

Dale said...

So you're the schmoozer and hubby's the boozer, I get it! Congratulations!

Christie said...

Thank you, but I'm a bigger boozer than him. Well, at least at social events. He's the private drinker.

Dale said...

He's your private drinker, a drinker for money...

P.S. I've been MIA and didn't get a chance to check out your blog.
