I think I broke a record

I read all 4 of the Twilight books in less than 4 days. The first one is at least 500 pages, and the other 3 are over 700.

My husband called me a nerd, and maybe I am. But seriously, it was so easy to get caught up in the series, and I could not make myself put the book down. I regret nothing, do you hear me, nothing.

I'm hoping that when I re-read them (because let's face it, if you love the book, you will re-read it) I will have a better ability to put. the. book. down.

Thank you, Beth, for your blog about the books. I think that gave me the final push to just read the damn things. I will forgo the movie, as you so kindly suggested. From what I've heard, and seen from the movie clips, the movie doesn't follow the book much at all. And I just can't face another movie that falls so far from the books plot (I mean you, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. You suck, and you so know you do.)

I'm usually a fast reader, too... but those books went crazy fast. I read them all in a weekend. I couldn't stop. They were the MOST compulsive reading. Ever.

In the end though, I was completely fed up. I LOVE you because your so pretty, I LOVE you because you smell nice! Gah. And the whole cultishness of the Cullen family - give up everything to be one of us, don't abort the baby the IS KILLING YOU, don't have sex before marriage.

And the movie WAS awful. It was just awkward meaningful glance after another. The love story didn't make much sense in book, and it didn't translate to film at ALL. And the movie? Not ONE funny scene. Worst date movie ever.

Okay, if you are reading those damn books I'll finally do it too. My mom loved them. I adore vampire movies, as weird as that is, so I'm sure I'll end up loving the series.

I read all 4 books and loved them. I like you read them very fast. Not as fast as you, but fast. I even called in sick one day to stay home and read. I also saw the movie opening weekend - and I liked it. A lot happens in the first book ... I thought it was an OK job. It was entertaining and I understood what was going on because I did read the books. I would recommend seeing it! That is just my opinion.

Dyck: Twilight is awesome. Keep your opinions to yourself for once.

Toryssa: I have to admit, I did cave and see the movie. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. I liked it, but it really helped having read the books first to know really what was going on.

Crystal: Sweet Valley High? Talk about a blast from the past. I had that whole series, too. What can I say, I'm an addict.

Jilly: I have never been into vampires, but I am now. I want Edward to be my boyfriend.

Erin: I know what you mean, so much is in Bella's head, if you didn't read the book, you would be lost. I have Melissa addicted to them now. She flew through the first 2, and ordered the others off Amazon today.

Although I've come to comment rather late, I did have to tell you that I too read the entire series in about 4 days myself. I have been rather torn as to whether or not to tell people that I am a bit obsessed, but you have given me courage to do not only that, but I may also cop to watching Gossip Girl religiously. I am silenced no more!!
