Weekend recap

I didn't really do anything. I am that lame. Now that I can't drink, weekends seem to last much longer. Weird.

Friday was pretty much spent in the car. I had an eye appointment and found out that I do, indeed, need new glasses. But my vision isn't the only problem. Apparently, I have a "focus issue" with my eyes, which requires vision therapy. What the hell? Of course, my insurance doesn't cover it so the doctor gave me some pretty lame exercises to do at home. Basically, I put a pen between my eyes and move it away from me and back again while focusing on the tip of the pen. They were going to charge me for that weekly, mind you. Ugh. From there, we went to see Jay at work and eat in the hospital cafeteria. Gotta love the fact we can scan his badge and they will take it directly from his paycheck. After that, we headed to my follow-up appointment at my butt/tummy doctor. He explained what he found during my procedure and what I could do to prevent this from happening again. Unfortunately, he said drinking was a major no-no and I had to fight the urge to punch him. I mean, I know it's not his fault, but come on. That is just mean. Afterwards, we took Charlie to the dog park by Jay's work and he made friends with Remy and Pepe, 2 other Bichons. All 3 of them humped and jumped on each other and we all left with much dirtier dogs. But they had tons of fun, and Kenzie found that she really wants a weiner. Dog that is. She would kill that thing in a heartbeat. Totally by accident, but she would squeeze the poor thing to death. Then we picked up Jay, and fought Seattle traffic. My mom had made grilled cheese and tomato soup, and I was asleep by 9:30. Lame-OH!

First thing on Saturday morning, we all weighed in. I lost 6 pounds (I told you that damn period would mess with my stats.). I am pretty happy with myself and I know I feel much better. If I keep up at this pace, I should be at my goal weight by summer. Cool beans. Then Kenzie and I drove to Tacoma for her cousins birthday party at Build-A-Bear Workshop. Have you ever been there? Our Party Specialist was Jack McFarlin, I swear. He was the stereotypical gay guy, and he loved loved LOVED his job. He shouted it to us a few times. Jolly for you, dude, it is 9 freaking 30 in the morning. The music alone made me want to tear my hair out. But Kenzie made a purple hippo named Wally and dressed her in a Valentine's Dress. We then sang tons of songs and I kept watch on the clock. We left around 11:30 and I made it home in time to pick up mom, drop of daughter, and head to London House for a hair appointment. I whacked more hair off. Every time I go, it gets shorter and shorter. It is about even with my chin now. A little shorter in the back. Jay likes it. He says as long as there is some to pull, he's A-OK. He's so easy to please and I like it! That night we played dice with the folks and I won. Score for me! I was asleep by 11:00.

Sunday we took the kids and dog to Lincoln Park. Jay had only seen pictures so it was his first time. He enjoyed it and it felt good to get out as a family. We did Jack and Shit the rest of the day. Maybe folded some laundry but that's about it.

Did anyone do anything exciting? You had to have done something more fun than us.

Next weekend we head to the Oregon coast to check out Ava for the first time. We get to baby-sit for a few hours before we take her to her grandparents and then party like rockstars. I am drinking, my doctor can fuck himself. It will be worth it, I swear.

Hey, don't feel bad about the early bed time. J and I are in bed at 10:00 pm almost every weekend.

We watched movies all weekend. It was so rainy and cold out there wasn't anything better to do anyway.

Now you have me craving grilled cheese. Mmm!

I wouldn't get my eyes fixed if I were you. Once you see how...um...inadequate your husband is compared to me, you'll wish you were blind.

I can't believe the insurance won't cover a legitamate medical condition!

Congrats on your weight loss!!! I am disgusted with myself pretty much every time I walk by a mirror or get dressed and still eat like shit.

Grrr, my first comment didnt post.

I can't believe your insurance won't pay for your new eye "issue" if it is a legit medical problem, they shouldnt be able to pick and choose what they cover. Blood suckers.

CONGRATS on your weight loss! That is awesome! I am disgusted by myself everytime I walk by a mirror or get dressed, and yet I continue to eat total crap.

drink away girl....but don't complain about it later!!!!

I wish we had a dog park here in BFE.....my dogs need some playmates other than each other...if they were awake long enough to play, that is.

I really did nothing this weekend myself, which is usually the way I like it. By the time Saturday rolls around I am ready to watch crappy tv and lounge :)

Weird. Usually it's only boys who squeeze their weiners to death.

I was always under the impression that watching TV, reading in the dark, and playing video games were great for eye strengthening. Am I wrong?
