Time for a post that isn't so damn depressing.
Oh, and Fall! It's the first day of Fall, bitches! My favorite time of year. Pumpkins and pretty leaves, yummy foods that can sit on the stove all day and make my house smell delicious. Taking walks and gathering leaves. And getting to watch some of my favorite movies. EVER!
It's Hocus Pocus and I love it! Bette and Sarah are awesome, and little Thora is adorable. Mason watches this with me every year, and loves it, too! Evan and Kenzie are still a little scared of it, but they are sure to love the next one. Mostly because it's a cartoon, which they see as less scary. But the premise is sure freakier.
You know, I loved watching this after I got home from Trick or Treating when I was little. Jonathan Winters reminded me of my Poppa for some reason, and I loved it. It also took my mind off my candy that my parents were so thoroughly checking for needles and drugs. As long as they found no unwrapped pieces, we didn't have to run to the hospital to have it x-rayed (gee, I wonder where I got my over-protectiveness from?).
Yesterday, to celebrate this joyful occasion, I made oatmeal molasses rolls. They were so awesome, we only have 2 left. I did bring 10 to my neighbor, and Evan took 2 to his teacher, but the rest have been consumed by Jay, Me, and Evan. Kenzie so kindly eats the honey butter off of it and then hands it off. Typical.
Anyway, enjoy the first day of Fall! I know I will. We are going to the library to pick up Halloween books and maybe, just maybe, to gather leaves to make a leaf wreath.

Happy First Day of Fall! I love Hocus Pocus!!
i LOVE ichabod!!!!
Agreed
There is nothing like the smell of fall in the air and the feeling of reese's peanut butter cups clogging my blood vessels.
I ate the last roll and it was yummy.
I could have lit the black candle until I was almost 18... sigh.
I just gained a pound. Seriously, you top it with Honey Butter????
I love the movie "Home for the Holidays" with Holly Hunter. That is how I know autumn is here.
It's dropping into the high 40's tonight and I'm looking forward to the cool weather. We've also been taking walks and enjoying the start of the leaves changing color.
I've been patiently waiting with Marcia for you to post the recipe for the oatmeal molasses rolls, pretty please!
