He's turning 10

Am I really old enough to have a 10 year old? God, I am getting over the hill.

Mason Patrick is getting ready to turn 10 and to celebrate that very special occasion, I decided I would do a post a day about my oldest son. It may just be a picture, because let's face it, I'm busy. But I will commit here and now to do a post a day about him.

Because he is truly awesome.

He is getting ready to enter 4th grade. That is hard to believe. He starts soccer in 2 weeks, something he is really good at. He is old enough now to make his own toast and chocolate milk, or pour his cereal. I have to force myself to let him do it, I am that accustomed to doing everything for all of them. But I know I could do much more than I make him do at 10. I put his clothes away, I remind him to take a shower and brush his teeth, I pack his lunches when he is here, I still pour his cereal and milk every morning. But I have pulled it back.

He leaves for his dads in 2 weeks to get ready for soccer and school. I will miss him so much.

What a cutie pie. :-) Does his dad live very far away?

Big deal. I can make my own chocolate milk too. Let's see him write his name in the snow without using his hands or feet...
