Christmas MeMe from Me to You

I was tagged by Random Moments for a Christmas MeMe. I'm not usually up on meme's but I'm outta ideas lately, so I figured I would be nice and do it, plus, it may help me get a little more into the Christmas spirit. Here goes:

When people say Christmas you immediately think...

of Christmas Eve at my grandparents house. We have done this since I can remember. It is the one time of year that all of us get together and eat Nanna's toffee bars and spritz cookies, Poppa slices up the ham, Nanna makes her Oriental chicken salad, Aunt Joni makes cinnamon rolls. OK, so it's the food that gets me there, but it's the people (and the food) that have me coming back.

Favorite Christmas Memory...

When I was 7, I think, I got Cabbage Patch Twins, a Coosa (CPK pet), Barbie corvette, and a bunch of CPK clothes and accessories. I was totally happy with that for a long time.

Favorite Christmas song/carol...

White Christmas by Bing Crosby and Let It Snow by whoever! I also like Everclears version of Santa Baby.

Favorite Christmas movie...

White Christmas, A Christmas Carol, and Elf. In that order.

Favorite Christmas character...

Um Santa? Oh, and God of course. Because without him, Christmas would just be about gifts and food.

Favorite Christmas ornament or object...

I love my new Snowman Flannel sheets! I also like my Christmas quilt that my mom finally gave me from when I was little, and an ornament my Grandma Van Rooy cross-stitched for me that is me holding a candy cane.

Plans for Christmas...

On the 23rd, we are heading to my cousins for her families Christmas. Christmas Eve, Mason will be with us at Nanna and Poppa's, on Christmas Day, my husband and step-dad are preparing a Christmas Goose (gag) and we'll open presents, then on New Year's my brother and sister-in-law will be here for another Christmas dinner.

Is Christmas your favorite holiday?

It used to be, but since I've become a parent and found out how much work and money goes into it, it's dropped a few spaces. But I still love it and can't wait for it to get here every year.

Now I am supposed to tag a few people to carry this along. If you don't feel like doing it, fine. But if you do, Merry Christmas to you!

Let's see if Beth, Marcia, Corky and Birdman can carry this out.

We used to celebrate Christmas at my grandparents' house. That is, until the year Grandpa Dyckerson whipped out his "yule log" and dunked it in the figgy pudding. Now we just go to Shoney's.

Beth: I feel your pain!

Random: Yeah, I tried telling my parents I was just playing with their hair, but they didn't buy it.

Dyck: Is Grandpa Dyck a measly 4.5 inches as well?

Crystal: Even though I've never met you in person, I can totally see you doing that. Actually, I could see myself doing it, too. I must find a revolving door!
